My late grandmother on my mom’s side, Baba, as we called her, was a product of the depression which meant she didn’t throw anything away. Baba was also adopted so she was very protective of her fine possessions. She only gave away a few special items to my mom, my aunts and I while she was alive so when she had a generous moment it was even more appreciated. I was thrilled when she decided to pass down her gorgeous set of fine sterling Silverware. When we were married we did not register for china or flatware. To me it is much more of a treasure when it is an antique heirloom. I love bringing it out during the holidays to dress up any ordinary table. “Chique” Antiques!
